HANOVER, N.H. -- The Tufts Men's Cross Country team competed in their second race of the season at the Dartmouth Invitational in Hanover, NH on Saturday.  The Jumbos finished in fifth place behind Dartmouth, Providence, Keene State, and Lowell.

First place finisher for Tufts was freshman Neil Orfield (Burnsville, MN) who completed the course in 27:03 and placed 37th overall.  Not far behind were sophomore Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH), freshman Mike Cummings (Cheshire, CT), and junior Peter Bromka (Portland, OR) who all crossed the line just one second behind the other, capturing 38th, 39th, and 40th place respectively.  Junior Jon Rosen (Amherst, MA), who ran a time of 27:16, finished fifth for Tufts with only one opponent between him and the lead pack for the Jumbos.

This was a challenging meet for the team because it was a Division I race, but the men finished in a solid pack to finish 60 points ahead of Williams College.

The team's next meet is the UMass-Dartmouth Invite on September 21.
