Chris Brunquell scored second for the Jumbos
with a seventh-place effort overall

WILIAMSTOWN -- With eight runners overall placing among the top
15, the Tufts University men's cross country team handily won the
eight-kilometer race at Williams College's Plansky Invitational on
Saturday. Tufts' score of 26 was 29 better than second-place RPI at
55.
Senior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) was the first Jumbo
to cross the finish line in third place overall with a 26:19 time.
He finished behind only Williams College alumni Macklin Chaffee and
Neal Holtschulte in the race, whose finishes were not counted in the
team standings. The race also included runners from Connecticut
College, Assumption, Manhattanville, RPI, and Williams.
Tufts junior Chris Brunnquell (Harrington Park, NJ) took
seventh place overall with a 26:53 time. Also in the top 10 for the
Jumbos was freshman Kyle Marks (Carmel, IN) at 27:06 for
10th. Six Tufts runners placed 10th through 15th in a row. The final
two scoring spots were taken by senior Ryan Lena (Orono, ME)
with a 27:08 time for 11th and sophomore Connor Rose (Irvine, CA)
in 12th place (27:09).
The Jumbos will run at Franklin Park in Boston next Sunday in the
Mayor's Cup, the final race before the championship season begins.
