SWIMMING & DIVING TEAMS AMONG NATION'S BEST ACADEMICALLY
MEDFORD -- In addition to their success in the pool, the Tufts
University men's and women's swimming & diving teams excel in the
classroom as well. The College Swimming Coaches Association of
America (CSCAA) released its Academic Team Rankings for the Fall
2006 semester on Monday and the Tufts teams were both among the top
10 in the NCAA's Division III for cumulative grade point average.
With a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in the fall, head coach
Adam Hoyt's men's team is ranked sixth among NCAA Division III
swimming & diving teams. On the women's side, head coach Nancy
Bigelow's squad also has a 3.5 cumulative grade point average that
is ranked ninth in Division III.
Bigelow's squad recently finished fifth at the New England Small

two individual titles. The team will send four competitors to this
weekend's (March 8-10) NCAA Championships at the University of
Houston. The Jumbos posted a 7-3 record during the regular season.
Hoyt's team was third at the NESCAC Championships, winning one
