MEDFORD --
Two members of the Tufts University men's cross country team earned
New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors with
their performances at the league championship race this past Sunday.
Senior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA/Burlington) is an
All-Conference First Team honoree and freshman Kyle Marks (Carmel, IN/Park Tudor)
is the NESCAC Rookie of the Year.
The conference honors were determined based upon the finishes at the
2009 conference championship race hosted by Trinity College at
Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut. Faller is one of seven
First Team members after finishing fourth in the championship race
with a 26:21 time over five miles. As the top freshman finisher in
16th place with his 27:15 time, Marks earned the Rookie of the Year
award.
Faller has been an All-Conference performer for three years now. He
was First Team last year as well and was on the Second Team in 2007.
Marks is the first Jumbo Rookie of the Year since Joshua Kennedy in
2003.
Coach Ethan Barron's Tufts team placed third at the conference
championship race.
