FALLER'S WIN AT CODFISH BOWL EARNS HIM NESCAC PERFORMER OF THE
WEEK HONORS
MEDFORD --
Junior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) of the Tufts University
men's cross country team is this week's New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Performer of the Week after he won the
41st Annual Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday
(Sept. 27).
Faller defeated a field of 155 runners from Northeast Division II
and III college teams and other amateurs. His time of 25:42 over the
eight-kilometer course was three seconds in front of Nicholas Koiyet
from New York Institute of Technology for the victory. The win was
the first of Faller's collegiate racing career.
Faller's first-place effort led Tufts to a second-place team finish
out of 17 squads. The Jumbos were a last-minute addition to run at
the 41st Annual Codfish Bowl after their originally scheduled meet
at the Connecticut College Invitational was canceled due to rain.
