Asian American Center

Asian American House (Start House)

Mission

The Asian American House (Start House), a Small Group Housing Unit under the Office of Residential Life and Learning, offers students an opportunity to live with others who have a commitment to learning about Asians in the U.S. Residents are required to coordinate programs for the Tufts community that focus on the issues and experiences of Asian Americans. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply to live in the House.

"Living in the House is an amazing experience! I enjoy being part of this close-knit group of students. We are equally interested in the Asian American experience and look forward to working on House programs for the Tufts community. I feel that the Center is the heart of the Asian American community so by living here, I am always able to participate in whatever is going on. With events taking place and clubs holding meetings here, I get to meet so many students and create many connections."
