College to Careers ExpoThe Partnership’s College to Career Program (C2C) trains students of color in Greater Boston, both undergraduate and graduate, in preparation for the workplace. Personal growth is fostered in the career development process as well through increased exposure, new challenges and peer learning. C2C is about empowering motivated individuals ready to become “the next big thing.”Sponsored by many of the region’s leading corporations, the program aims to alert talented students of color to the many opportunities available in Boston. A range of activities are held throughout the academic year, all of which promote networking among potential employers, other students of color and professionals of color with established careers. Boston has plenty to offer and, we believe, so do its students. The deadline for application is December 16th. Click here to download the College to Careers Expo application

The 2008 PPIA Junior Summer Institute continues this tradition by training future leaders for government service and other public service careers and by cultivating the development of leaders equipped to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds in an era of globalization. Mission: The program's mission is to increase leadership opportunities for future global policy leaders in both the public and nonprofit sectors. We believe that by encouraging a diverse cadre of leaders who are culturally aware and socially sensitive to consider careers in public service, we will strengthen the leadership capacity of government and nonprofit organizations throughout the world. Goal: The goal of the program is to prepare students for graduate study and careers in public policy and international affairs. This goal is achieved by providing participants with the tools of critical thinking, speaking, writing, and quantitative reasoning and with the skills and experiences necessary to create, analyze, implement, evaluate, and affect policy in a multicultural, multiethnic society. The Princeton/PPIA Partnership: Our summer institute is part of the Public Policy & International Affairs Fellowship Program (PPIA), a national consortium of the top public policy and international affairs graduate schools that prepare college juniors for advanced degrees and careers serving the public good. In addition to Princeton's PPIA Junior Summer Institute, there are four other prominent schools that host a PPIA Summer Institute, including the University of California at Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Maryland, and the University of Michigan. How To Apply: For additional information, please visit the PPIA Program's website at http://www.ppiaprogram.org.. The application deadline for this program is Thursday, November 1, 2007 |
