Some
web sites Nancy Carroll thinks may help in your job search:
www.doe.mass.edu/mecc
This is
a collaborative effort between the Mass. DOE and the Massachusetts
Association of School Peersonnel Administrators. School districts
can post openings and candidates can post resume information.
Please note that all districts do not post all openings --
but most of them do look through the resumes that are posted.
Even if you do not see your subject area or grade level posted,
it is worthwhile to post your resume.
www.merc2001.org
This is the official web site for the Massachusetts Educational
Recruiting Consortium. You should check this out periodically
to see what school systems have registered for the Job Fair
which will be held on April 18 & 19. At this point there are
150 school districts registered. Prior registration is required.
Registration/Orientation meetings will be held on Wednesday,
April 4, 4 pm in the Rabb Room of the Lincoln Filene Center
and Monday April 9, 4 pm in Room 225 of Braker Hall. It is
mandatory to attend ONE of these meetings in order to attend
MERC.
www.nemnet.com
This is a website of an organization that assists candidates
of color to find teaching positions.
www.spfldcol.edu/neaee
This is the website for the New England Association for Employment
in Education. You will find useful information and several
links to other sites for assistance in the job search, including
the American Association for Employment in Education. www.teachers-teachers.com
This site offers you the opportunity to post a resume for
school districts to view all across the country. School districts
who "sign on" can then post job listings. Candidates are not
charged for the service, but school districts are.
Tips:
The Departments of Education in most states have a website
and many of them have a recruitment section as well as information
relating to certification.
Many (most?)
school districts or communities have websites that will provide
information about the community and school district.

of Education websites, click
