Dorothy
Amore Pilla is the Director of Art Education for Tufts University
and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A visual
artist and art educator, Dorothy received a Bachelor of Science in
Education and a Master of Arts with concentrations in art education
and museum education from Tufts University. For her intensive
study and practice in visual art at the Museum School Dorothy earned
their four year diploma and a fifth year certificate in printmaking.
Her career in teaching art began at the elementary level, later focused
on teaching art for middle school students, and now continues in higher
education with pre-service students in Pre-K-12 art education.
Her most current art education interests include post-modern approaches
to teaching and learning in art, developing art education programs
in partnership with museum settings, using technology for research
and practice in Pre-K-12 art education, and the developement of interdisciplinary
curricula.
Currently Dorothy's artwork is focused on painted and digital image
making and the exploration of visual concepts through mutiple imagery.
Her attachment to coastal and marine environments is reflected in
her current work. |
